AVOID THE FOLLOWING:
- Never bring up the past in a fight or argument
- Never hit below the belt (character assassination)
- No abuse (physical, verbal or emotional—including name calling).
- No threats (indirect or direct)
DO MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Focus on behaviors only
- Focus on solutions not problems
- First understand their point of view (even if you don’t agree)
- Look for win-win solutions
- Look for “what’s best for the family/relationship” as a whole
